Solved it, but might as well tell you all what happened so that you don't end up in the same mess I was in.
I am testing the software at present so no users are online to talk to ... yet.
Setup:
Server running on Windows 2k - 30+ channels.
Client installed on Windows 98se
I was creating registered channels as admin and all seemed well. I modified the server with number of users and it restarted.
When I then tried to join the server, my client just hung up. It seemed the connection to the server was ok, as it did give me the welcome message, but it never showed the list of channels or even told me I was connected.
Even the status line said Disconnected.
I have multiple computers, so I used another to join the server, and it worked.
Alt+Ctrl+Del and killing the TS2 process on the 98se hanging, did not solve the problem.
Restarting the 98se did not solve the problem. But it did give me a process name with reference to Key.
Based on the fact that my other system could connect, I figured this had to do with some key bindings that where done on my system.
The fix:
Uninstalling the client and reinstalling it solved the problem.
However, instead of "locking up", I would have expected some kind of error message.
Well, the fix is here, but when time allows, the dev could perhaps add some error messages.
