View Full Version : Can't connect
I just started a linux server on my webhost. The ports for TS are opened and the server is running. When I try to connect, it still acts as if the ts server wasn't started. Is there anything else that would keep ts from working?

Firewall,Router,NAT can be block teamspeak.
Also try this: http://ts2test.planetteamspeak.com
And read this:http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=19293
I am pretty much at the hands of my server suppoort group which are very stubbarn when it comes to ports. Which is also fully understandable. As I said, all the ports are open, but the server is still acting like it's not running.

What about the server test: http://ts2test.planetteamspeak.com
Maybe it's a client side problem. Some firewall is blocking teamspeak. But first test your server with the link above.
My server suport people have blocked my permissions to the tss2_rc2 folder on my webserver. They say it's taking "high load" so they are keeping an eye on it. I told them with doing that it's only making the "high load" problem even worse, and that they need to un-block the permissions so I can help them. I will keep ya updated on this problem.
My server passed that server troubleshooting thingy.
Ok, I have the server up now. Now my problem is, when I try to connect, I get an "invalid characters blablabla"
I also get a Bad login error if I leave the nickname slot empty.
I tried to add a new client via the webinterface, but I still get this problem.

First problem: You using disallowed characters. You can configure this in the server.ini at the section DisAllowedClientNameChars
Normally it's set on this: DisAllowedClientNameChars=()[]{}
Second problem: Do you have a server password on the server?
Normally you didn't need to type any loginname or nickname you will get an automatic guest name if you didn't type anything. But if there is a server password on the server you only can connect with that password or an registered account. You can add an account or change the server password in the webinterface.
I've altered the Disallowedchars section. There is nothing in it at the moment. This is a gamers TS Server, so other gaming communities will use those characters.
2) There isn't a server password. I've created an account via the webinterface, and even that account gives me that bad login error. I get this error even if I leave everything blank too.
