Well hello.
80% of the time i start my TS2client i get a bluescreen, im using WinXP and have read that the USP drivers can cause problems.
The only USP utilety im using is a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer3.0. Ive tried downloading the latest Software but still there is no change. Im using the intergrated soudcard on my motherbord which is a Soltek SL-75FRV, im getting kind of nuts because all other members of my clan (who are running Win2k or Win98) dosent seem to have these problems and its hard to play Clanwars whitout communications :/
If anyone has got any solutions i would be wery gratful.

Have you run the Windows Update Feature?

If not I would suggest you do so - This will scan your system for patches/fixes/driver updates to your Operating Systems and Device Drivers.

Also if your Motherbaord is of the VIA Chipset then check out via's homepage for their 4-in-1 fixes to issues related to the m/board.

There must be something conflicting with TS then.

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled TS?

What version of TS do you currently have?

Windows XP is strange, worse than windows 2k servers, but ...

What I usually do to make sure everything works is disable every option and service that I do not require.

Additionally, some drivers are just plain bad, even the latest versions. I wouldn't even trust the microsoft update site when it comes to drivers. Seen problems semilar to yours because I updated an onboard sound driver to the latest drivers offered by windows update.

Haven't tried to use windows xp on the Soltek boards yet, but I have been using it on KT133 boards with no problems at all.

If possible get a windows XP pro - the home edition is so restrictive really.

Just a few ideas, where I would start looking.

It's so/so with the Intergrated sound cards. But they have been known to have some quirks now and again.

Especially the DirectX drivers might give quite a few problems with those cards. They simply don't upgrade the drivers or they are unable to make them compliant with the latest dx version.

Have you tried to change from DirectInput to Wave input, it might indicate if it's a sound driver issue or direct x issue.

If it's better using one than the other, it might at least point you towards someplace that could be improved.

If it doesnt make any difference, then you'd be able to disregard the sound card as the problem. One gone, 99 other places to look for fixes ....
