Hey

I got this combination going. According NVidia's site one has to use the ASUS audio drivers for some strange reason. Using TS with the ASUS drivers that came with the A7N8X Deluxe didn't work well in my case, my voice would be accompanied by this annoying tick tick tick tick sound. I installed the lastest NVidia nForce2 drivers to get my IDE hdds to work properly (they were stuck in PIO mode with the ASUS drivers, if you see primary & secondary channel under IDE controllers in device manager, it's wrong, you should only see the NVIDIA controller).

I downloaded the latest drivers from ASUS and installed those, which solved the TS problems, sounding fine now. Of course this broke my IDE drivers again. I reinstalled the NVidia drivers which replaced all the drivers except the audio drivers. Voila!

Hope this helps someone....

Cheers
Peter

May i ask, what is the soundquality like on the Nforce2 boards? It combines NVidia's Apu with an ALC Realtek 650 AC/97 soundcodec.

does it come close to the Soundblaster live? Please tell me.

I have not heard the SB live in my setup before so I can't really compare, sorry. It's definitely much better than the old SB PCI128 I had.

I'm thinking of buying a new soundcard, but if i can get a mainboard and decent soundcard for the price of one audigy2, the choice is simple. Then it would be an Nforce2 based board.
