Hi hoping someone can help. I cannot connect to any TS server when logged in at a hotel site. This happens at all hotels even if I pay extra for my own IP. It is not wireless either.
The only way I can get it to work is by connecting through my companie's VPN tunnel, which slows it down and causes lag while gaming.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Maybe the hotel is blocking the port...

They are claiming they dont block any ports. It's driving me crazy! I can get Ventrillo to work fine.
Maybe they're blocking outgoing UDP connections and the person you've asked doesn't know the difference between TCP and UDP. As I've seen in Ventrilo's forums, their client uses TCP connections to communicate with the server.

Would I ask them to unblock all outgoing UDP ports or do I tell them the specific port number of the server I am connecting to?

Most games use UDP so it is likely that UDP is working fine, however if certain ports have been blocked then you will need to test the ports and the best way to do this is with one of the many TCP/UDP port scan utilities that are out there.
