View Full Version : BUG: Keybinds to switch channel will not switch to sub-channels

Hello

I realise it is unlikely this will be fixed in TS2 (do the devs actually care about improving TS anymore?), but is there a workaround to the below bug?

I have setup several keybinds to auto-switch me to certain channels when I press certain key combinations, including buttons on my Game Voice "puck". However the keybinds that are supposed to move me into subchannels do not work, only the binds leading to master channels actually work. I am assuming this is a bug, I have tried several combinations of keys, but switching to subchannels simply will not work.

If anyone can suggest a workaround, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

It's not a bug, it is a feature!
Let me explain: Subchannel names are not unique, you could have 3 main channels called "A", "B" and "C", and in each of these you could have two subchannels, called "Team Red" and "Team Blue".
How could the TS2 client possibly work out which of the 3 avaliable (sub)channels all called "Team Blue" you want to switch to with your keybind "Switch to channel 'Team Blue'"?
Hence, you will only be able to switch to subchannels _within_ the channel group. So say you are in channel "A", or in channel "A/Team Red", then pressing your keyswitch will switch you to "A/Team Blue", while when you are in "C/Team Red" it will switch you to "C/Team Blue".
Now, if you are in "A/Team Red" and want to go to "C/Team Blue", what you need to do is use TWO bindings, one goes "Switch to Channel 'C'", and the other is the same as above "Switch to Channel 'Team Blue'", now you just press these two in the order I mentioned them and you are in "C/Team Blue", as expected.
As you see: it IS a feature! :)
