I simply cannot cominicate to my other clan members clearly through TS! When I activate local test and speak it sounds very high pitched and as though there is terrible feedback. I have selected "push to talk" and even holding the mic about 2 metres from my headphones as soon as I hold down the assigned key to talk I get an awful sound through the headphones.
Originally I thought it was either the mic (Labtec) or the soundcard (sb pci) but I have tested them in Xp and run the voice recog program and all sounds wonderful.
Has anyone got any ideas?

I would say check your recording and playback levels and switches in your operating system.
Baring any problem there, we would need more information about you computer like MB/CPU/SoundC/VideoC hardware and driver specifics as well as Operating system and DirectX versions.

If your using XP, try the following - This has helped out at least 2 members of our Ghost Recon Group.
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sound & Audio Devices
Under the Volume Tab, select the "Advanced" button under the section labelled "Speaker Settings".
Ensure the "Speaker setup" downdown option is set correctly.
If using headphones with mic, then select Stereo Headphones.
I've noticed, before I had SP1 on XP that every now and then my settings changed, for no apparent reason.
Another thing I noticed on the other tab options:
Voice Tab, Voice Recordings my sound card which is my setting for mic input, reverted to my webcam (includes internal mic).
This would manually require myself to change from the webcam (Logitech Quickcam Pro 3000) back to my sound card.

I think that you're describing a loop-back (because of the terrible high sound).
So if you don't have a loop-back between your speakers and your mic, it's still possible that your recording device is "wave" or a special "what u hear" device... that would loop-back everything you hear into the input of ts which would just throw it back on you and you'd hear it again...
so make sure your recording-device is your microphone and nothing else :)
I hope that this solves your problem... if not, just try to give further information...

Thanks guys,
I've swithced from my original SB pci to a Philips dynamic edge (because it was cheap!) and this seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for the replies.

Can you hear your self talk from the speakers? if so mute the mic in playback
i posted my problem in german at
http://www.teamspeak.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3020
i have a terrible voice after 20 minutes.
later my push-key doesn't work anymore.
when i switch from wave to direct sound (or vice versa) everything works again.
maybe a bug in 26.27-version?
a german said, it's better, if you set yourself 'away'.
