Trying to run a Teamspeak Server on a computer that gets its internet from another computer?

This is basically for those of you without a router.. and one or more computers sharing internet off of one main computer. Most likely, you have a USB modem and can't easily use a router. I couldn't find a solution on here, although after a quick run through google I came up with a solution.

[Left Click]: Start -> My Computer -> My Network Places (on left side of screen) -> View network Connections (on left side of screen) -> [Right Click]: Your Internet Connection (most likely the modem) and then select properties.

Now click the advanced tab. If you made it to the right place it should look like this.

http://www.dslreports.com/r0/download/181339;bd105dc7c26c9fbad8be83372f13319d/icsconfigXP.jpg

Now click settings button on the bottom, as pictured.

Now click the add button, as pictured.

Now you just fill in the info:

Description of service I would just put TeamSpeak server

The next field, the ip address you will find by launching the teamspeak server on the computer you would like to use it with, then right click the teamspeak server icon (next to your clock) and left click the Your IP's text. The ip your looking for will be the one that starts with 192.168 most likely that is..

In the next field, your external port will be 8767

In the next field your internal port will be 8767

Before you click add, take note of the UDP or TCP selection. It's either one or the other. Click one, and the go back and fill in the EXACT same info that you just did, and pick the other selection.

Now, some of this information may be redundant, but it works. You will have to restart your computer before it will work. I would suggest both of them.

Hope this helps.

hi, thx for the detailed explanation...
just one small add-on:
you should only need the udp forwarding, as tcp isn't used to establish a connection between client and server. also a reboot is not needed as far as I know.
