Before I start: Yes, I've read the faq file specifically addressing this problem - and it didn't work. Read more for more details. :) Thanks.
My TS server is up, on Windows XP. I'm behind a Trendnet router. Most people are able to connect to my server, but a select few can't.
When those select few try to connect, they manage to connect, they see the welcome message, and then they get disconnection ("connection timed out"). Those same people manage to connect to other TS servers and don't have problems at all.
One of those people solved the problem by lowering the MTU in the router.. but that can't be a proper solution - seeing as they do manage to connect to other TS servers rather well.
The ports are (obviously) forwarded in the router, otherwise they wouldn't have even received the welcome message. The only firewall i have is Windows Firewall SP1.
I tried the fix in the FAQs... the one which suggests going to ther server.ini file and changing "BoundToIp=" to "BoundToIp=<your IP here>"... Problem is that in that file I only found "BoundToIp1=" and when I changed it to "BoundToIp1=<my ip>", the server won't load. It wouldn't even let me into the administration without changing it back. When I try to remove the one, and change it to "BoundToIp=<my ip>", it just changes it back to "BoundToIp1=<my ip>" and again the server won't load up until I change it back.
I've been working on this problem for the better part of the day, and I'm really not thinking straight anymore... If anyone could please PLEASE help me, I'd really appreciate it. :)
Thanks,
Zadon.
