How do you maintain a static ip through a dsl router? Is the dsl router setup similiar to setting up through a modem and a regular router? The ip for my teamspeak keeps changing, kicking people off of the server. I appreciate the help in advance.

The IP is given to you by your DSL provider. You could probaly - depending on the provider, order a different package, with a static IP, allowing you to host services.
The frequency, at which the IP is changed by the provider varys a lot. Mine is virtually always the same, but some days, like one day per 10 days, it's a bit different.
A static IP is in general considered a service by your provider, and is often a bit more expensive. But you have to talk to them, to find a solution :)
Good luck
