Everyone in my group should have TS 2.0.26.27 or the previous version installed. I've got the latest version installed on my server. The server is located at another place on it's own connection. Our group had approx 16 people on at once and the choppyness got so bad that we had to switch over to (Looking around to make sure no one hears him, he whispers Roger Wilco).
Here's the specs on the server.
Intel PIII 450Mhz
384meg Ram
10.2gig HD
DSL 768d/128up. (by itself)
Everyone's connections vary from dial up to 512d/256u to 2.3d/800u. Most people are running XP or 2000. 2 are running win98. We ran with the lowest codec and switched to the highest and no diff. I also posted on our forums before the get together for everyone to make sure they had the Process Priority set to High.
A few days earlier I had asked for as many people as possible to help me test TS 2.0 (after I found out about the process priority > high) and decided to test it out with our game, Mechwarrior Mercs. Only 6 people could make it and while in game and making sure people did alot of talking, I changed the codec from the lowest to the highest and testing went very well. No choppyness. Today we got together with 16 on the server and the choppyness was very bad, people getting kicked from the TS server. Very very very very poor performance.
Could it be a issue that even though every room was set to clep 6.3, the up bandwidth couldn't handle 16 people?
Let me ask this for the developers. What would the recommended up & down connection be for a server to host 16-20 people and run either celp 6.3 or even GSM 16.4? Maybe this would help.
I need some help with this. I'm at wits end and would really like to use 2.0 for our weekend games, but can't with the performance like this.
PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!
