Installed the TS2 server and client. After accessing the TS2 server and gave it a unique name, I nor my friends can find me on the public server list. I can connect to the server started on my computer (using the NAT of 192.168.0.13). I am behind a Netgear RP614 router/switch. My actual IP to the router is 216.180.165.199, and the port forwarding on the router is open for 8767. My friends can not connect to my server even by typing in the ip address (216.180.165.199:8767). Anything that I am doing wrong with the server setup??? How do I show up on the web list for servers??? How do my friends connect to me versus having to use a public server online, or is that the only way???? Any help at all would be great!!! Thanks.
I'm having pretty much the same problem. Except I've went a little farther with trying to figure it out.
I made sure that DMZ hosting is turned on and set to forward to my server's local address.
I checked with my ISP to make sure that they aren't blocking any ports, also tried several diffrent ports.
I've also set up the router to forward 8767 to the server. I can connect from another computer on my LAN only by using the servers LAN ip. I cannot connect by using my static internet IP address (206.168.3.5). I don't know if its a problem with the server, or something I'm not doing on my end. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Also, feel free to try to connect to my IP, 206.168.3.5 if it helps somone figure out my problem.
Thanks,
Loopey

Sounds to me like you have done everything correct on both situations. I have tried that IP and no connection was made. One thing I want to ask? Are you binding your server to an IP? If so, take that out, and see what happends. You should not have to bind your servers IP unless you have several IP's on one box. Like Virtual Domain Hosting or something. You should not have to bind to your server IP either in the LAN.
So check that in your server.ini file. Or if someone else knows what they can do. I have been mainly a Linux Server guy, but recently working on Windows based TeamSpeak Servers.
Good Luck...:D
Thanks for taking the time to check it out. I'm not binding the server to an IP address. I tried, but it didn't work. One thing I noticed, under "your IP's" it lists my Local IP, and another IP address which I don't recognize. I traced it back to being one of my ISP's DNS servers, but it's not one of the DNS servers that I'm using. Not sure if that gives anyone any ideas, please let me know.

Flying Tooth, you might download Port Detective (http://www.portdetective.com/) and check to see that your ISP isn't blocking port 8767. The latest trend in ISP's, especially those providing High Speed internet access, is to block ports so that you can't run servers without paying for a buisness account.

Thanks loopey, unfortunately my ports are not being blocked and using the detective it shows the required ports are open. Still fussing with many things to get it to work. I have also opened up my dmz and allowed my computer to be pinged ... to no avail. If you got any other good ideas please let me know. Have you got yours working yet either?

Just found out one way to get others to connect to me for the first time.....go to - start - my network places - view network connections - RIGHT CLICK local area connection - properties - authentication - and make sure that either 1. ieee authentication is not enabeled or 2. if it is eneabled...make sure the guest box at the bottom is checked.....After doing this, my friends were able to connect to me directly, although I still am not showing up on the web list for servers....At least it is one step in the correct direction!!!!..
P.S. Does anyone know if changing the ieee autentication is detrimental for letting people in that I don't want!??
