I was wondering if there were some kind of thing where I could purchase a domain name for a one time fee only but less than 20 bucks or something. You guys mind finding me some? I can't use Google, because my Mom don't trust it. But, she doesn't know what gmail is! :)

Please help, I would greatly appreciate it.

No, there is no way this could even be possible. All of the domain registrars are charged by whichever corp owns the TLD, according to how many domains they are selling/hosting at the moment.

You can see who owns all of the Top Level Generic TLDs here: http://www.iana.org/gtld/gtld.htm

Now lets say that you wanted to host .com . Then you would goto verisign (http://www.verisign.com/information-services/index.html)'s site and sign up for it.

So, just stick with yearly or so. (I do reccomend reading up on it though.)
