View Full Version : TS no longer hears me
I've used TeamSpeak for about a year and a half now to keep in touch with distant friends and for online gaming. Yesterday I logged on and was informed that although the light went on when I pushed my "push-to-talk" button, no one could hear me. Today I took some time to try to sort this out but am at a loss. I'm still able to record in other programs (Windows Sound Recorder, Musicmatch) but I cannot record in TeamSpeak and when I log onto any server no one can hear me. I didn't change any settings between when it last worked and when it stopped working. I've changed a few in trying to get it to work, but to no avail (and I've changed them all back). I've tried uninstalling and re-installing TeamSpeak and still nothing. Any advice?
And as mysteriously as it stopped, TS started working for me again tonight. Still no idea what caused the problem or how it fixed itself, but when I logged on this evening and flashed my talk button everyone could hear me again. Definitely weird but no longer urgent.
same prob, but still not working. :/

Try this:
settings >> options
Sound devices.
make sure you have your primary sound device selected.
try wave instead of direct sound, just to check. if it doesnt work, switch it back.
Go to your volume control.
options >> properties
select recording and make sure the mic is selected. in the list. click OK
This brings up the recording control. make sure the mic is selected and is up.
I've seen situations where they have a mic plugged into the wrong jack. or someone came behind them and fooled with the mute button on their mic or things like that.
One time, someone had their mic unplugged without them knowing it.
But, if you are able to record your voice in windows.. then you know you have a working mic, I would shutdown, restart and then open up teamspeak, that way you would know, or as far you would know, teamspeak is the only device that is opened that will be using your mic.
Go into your sound input/outout settings.. Do a local test. if you are using voice actication, fool with the voice actication levels or even try the push to talk.
Hmm.. all else fails, backup your server list.. remove teamspeak, then reinstall it.
I really didnt give any good advice, but its a start.
