i launched a server, and i can't figure out how to connect as admin when in the TS client. i can log in as a regular user, but i can't figure out how to connect as admin.
also, when my friend tried to connect, he got this error:
Connecting to 192.168.0.3
[18:51:29] No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it
please help!

then I dont know how I can help you
It's included in the basic manual
to login as admin you need to enter the admin/superadmin name and password that was specified to you on install
as far as your friend.....if you didnt forward the udp 8767 port then you are prolly having problems with him seeing your server.....also he is entering your lan ip address.....unless he is on your network, he needs to enter your global ip address found by www.whatismyip.com
good luck

I hate to say this, but you need more of an understanding of networking before jumping into this.
MotherFo is pretty much telling you where to look.
If you can't grasp it, then I suggest looking elsewhere for a server.
More information, google and read the manual. some key terms.
"port forwarding" - get your manual for your router that shares your internet.
whatismyip.com - shows you what your INTERNET IP ADDRESS is.
know the ports of the teamspeak server!! 8767 is the common port you will need when you setup port forwarding.
heh.. READ everything when you install a teamspeak server.. The manual... and the information that pops up when you install it.
I wouldnt expect much help if you reply back to this thread, "how do i forward port 8767 on my <insert router name>?" or anything..
Do some searching and reading.. If this doesnt help, then as I said. maybe you should look for some cheap ts server or has someone else do it for you.
I'm not even going to start with Dynamic IP..

well said and ty KingFish :) :p
Also, you cannot login with the client as SuperAdmin. You can only use that for the WebAdmin and TCPqQuery.
And, if you need help forwarding your router, goto: http://portforward.com/routers.htm, select your router, then select Teamspeak, then follow those steps.

Hi All, I have not been aroiund for a while.
I see things have not changed much in th forums. ;)
It may not be worth the learning curve you need to tackle to run a server.
Check out some of the partner sites for low cost TS2 servers.
I have heard much good of the services they provide. :)

Ok I read this,
Start the TeamSpeak server.
Open the file server.log that is created in the same directory where the server executable is located.
Look for the following lines:
??-??-?? ??:??:??,WARNING,Info,SERVER, admin account info: username: admin password: abc123
??-??-?? ??:??:??,WARNING,Info,SERVER, superadmin account info: username: superadmin password: 123abc
But I am stuck at open the file server. log :( Is there a "Teamspeak For Dummies" somewhere because I am just not understanding this?
What is the file server log? I just want to change our password.
I am not a stupid person, but TS is baffling me :(

I would like to say Thank you for helping me on another thread, but why do you feel the need to be so rude to ppl that ask for help? You never did show me were in the Manual or FAQs how to change the PW. You sent me a link to a different site.
Please remember that not everyone is good at everything. You may know much about Tech Support but, I bet you can't fix a hole in a heart and save a baby's life. That is what I do for a living. And I am only 2 years older than you are, so do NOT tell me " We are not an approved substitute for your brain".
Jill
I feel the need because many people don't feel the need to inform themselves properly before posting on the forums.
By the way: This so called "different site" is the updated server manual I'm working on and it is also the main online mirror for the manuals. So we can directly link a manual page for online reading. The original server manual comes with the server download in a directory called "manual". Besides that, this "different site" is the biggest German TeamSpeak support website out there.
Not that I wish to insult you, but if I was planning to mess around with a human heart, I would certainly inform myself very well before doing so. Or do you just start from scratch and ask for help when you are having problems?
If you don't take the time to inform yourself, your server might simply stop working sooner or later.
My answer was really a bit rude, but when answering the same questions day by day it's really hard to give friendly answers.
Calm down people...
;)
@vballjill:
Basically, the FAQ is saying that there's a file called "server.log" in the directory where your TeamSpeak 2 server is installed. Maybe your operating system hides the file extension (.log), but you should see a text document called "server", if you're searching in the correct folder.
BTW: Where's your server running (on your own PC or on a dedicated server)?
I hope this helps.
