Hi,

Ive been using TeamSpeak client for a few years now, but now that im at uni ive got problems :( .

I can play online games fine with a ping of 10 or less. And when i load up TeamSpeak i still dont lag out. I only lag out when i talk or some1 else talks on teamspeak. My ping shoots up to 999. My packetloss also shoots up when they talk. It also lags out when im not in game and try talking on teamspeak. Like i said i dont have this problem at home, and must therefor be something with my connection. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks

James

what do you mean, "I don't have this problem at home"?

do you lag when you are "only" on teamspeak and not in a game?

on the server, use a lower codec..

also, fiddle with this:

settings -> options -> bandwith

see what happens with that.

make sure you have other internet things disabled. If you are in a place where you are sharing the internet, make sure no one is doing any massive downloading.

Im now at University and share a network connection. When i was at home i wasnt on a network.

Ive fiddled with the Bandwidth settings on ts and found that a VERY VERY low upload and download speed solved the problem, but the people on teamspeak were lagging so bad i couldnt understand what was being said.

Is there an easier solution for this problem then just lowering the upload/download speeds?

No, apparently it is a bandwidth problem. THe only way to fix it is to get more somehow.

Or go around and start unplugging everyone else's connection. I think someone over there is downloading a lot of "things".

Make a channel on your teamspeak and use the lowest codec with other people. see if it lags. If it doesnt, move up codecs until you get a codec that's suitable for your situation.

With the lower codec, you won't need as much bandwith.. And try not to talk a lot while gaming. lol.

Talking is one of the main reasons people USE teamspeak....

Talking is one of the main reasons people USE teamspeak....
let me re-phrase that...

dont talk as much. as in, dont have long conversations. just see what happens. As in, will it lag if you sit there and read a novel as compared to saying a couple words/sentence.
