Adding the trademark and copyright symbols to unallowed characters

Hi all,

Ok, so I want to add the trademark, copyright, register, and all those other symbols to the unallowed characters for user names. I'm running the server on Red Hat 9 and I'm not sure how to add ASCII characters to the ini file. In good old Windows, it's just alt+some number.

Also, I seem to recall some people saying using these odd characters is a way to take control of the server. Is this true?
