I have shell access to my webhost - i am sucessful downloading and unzipping the file to the directory.
i get to the directory by : cd tss2_rc2
but when i try: ./teamspeak2-server_startscript start
it says: starting the teamspeak2 server
Error, Either an old instance of teamspeal is still running, or an other application is ising the tcpquery port:
Error, Server was not started:
Help!
Was it the first time you have tried starting your server? I am having this problem too (I'm a noob at Linux.) although, mine did work for a while, it has recently started giving me that error. (I've just been too lazy to ask about it.)
Anyways... hushdavid, give some info about your system.
I'm running FC4 on mine.
Are you allowe to have backround proccess's running also?
Is that your own server or are other people using it?
If other people use it, someone else probably installed a teamspeak server.

hey guys - thanks for the help, i figured out what the issue was; i didn't have the .ini file bound to the IP... once i did that it started fine.
it seems like the issue i have now - it that it shuts down every so often, and i have to access the shell again and restart the server - then it works.
anyone know what the issue could be with that?
thanks
david
Hmmm... strange. So, when I checked out my server.ini i had already set it tomy global IP. But, when I left it blank, it started working again.

that is strange - i am still having issues with TS randomly crashing. It will stay up for a day or two then doesnt let me sign on - so when i access it the server status, it says it is running, but it doesnt let me sign on until i restart it - then it last a few more days.
