Hey guys,

I need your help, ok?

A user named "Noddy" logged into our TeamSpeak server tonight, but such a user does not exist in our user database. How could such a person do that? The person's member group was "U"....

Also, this person was able to move freely from room to room-- because I was logged into the server from the client. He was even able to access rooms which we thought were previously locked down by user group permissions.

How can I help ensure that this does not happen again?

Thanks so much in advance,
Statustray

U = unregistered

He loged in the server and used the nick "nobody" (he knows the server password / you haven't one ??). Concering access to all channels, I can only assume that you do not have set the rights appropriate to prevent this :confused:

Thanks for the reply,

He used the nick "Noddy" -- not "Nobody"....

Also, the server does have a username/pass set on it. It's a long one as well.

So you are saying that he had to know the username/pass on the TeamSpeak server in order to gain access? And if so, it might be time to change passwords.

In the meantime, I banned his ip address range... and unless he was using a proxy or something he was coming from a cable connection over in the UK-- I did a reverse name lookup of his ip address.

Are there any other things that I should look for on our TeamSpeak server?

TIA,
