When I try to start TS I get this:

Error, Either an old instance of teamspeak is still running, or
an other application is using the tcpquery port!
Error, Server was not started!

I know for a fact that nothing is using that port...
It worked until I shut down the computer. Is there a kill command or something to stop the process properly (yes I'm complete newb at linux).

try going under the .ini file and binding it to you IP

I do have my IP set in the server.ini

BoundToIp1=70.77.34.171

unless the install mistyped that line or something...

Check for a file *.pid in the installation direcory of TS. If this file is present and TS is not running remove the file then start TS.

There is no .pid file in my tss2_rc2 directory

wouldn't be the .pid file in the /var/run/ folder (or distribution specific) ?
