Greetings,
I have read through most of the previous posts but am still having issues with certain friends connecting to my server.

I have just recently started having this issue having run teamspeak server for 1 year without problems. Yesterday a buddy tried to connect to my server (which is behind a router, ports properly forwarded) with the same procedure as always, only this time he could not connect, getting the error "error - server is offline or maybe teamspeak is not running it" or something to that effect.

Now, he can connect to other public servers without a problem and can see my server in the query list, which led me to believe it was an issue on my end, but two of my other buddies can connect to my server without problem so maybe it is a problem on his end. Not exactly sure what has changed in the past couple days but something is preventing him from accessing my TS server.

Thanks in advance,
1n

EDIT:Hmm, more information...

Version : Teamspeak RC2 (server and clients)
OS: Win XP sp2 (up to date security)
SoundCard: Realtek (newest drivers)
DXversion: 9.0c
Tried:
Checked ports on router (didnt change anything since it worked before) all three suggested ports open as per portforward.com instructions.
Thought about the "BoundToIP1=" but read in posts that this only applies to systems running more than one WAN IP (mine is a single connection).

I assume a timeout (the probably most common error). Did your friend tested what's recommended in the FAQ (no reply) ?

Yep, He can connect to other non-passworded servers which suggests that the issue is server side. But other friends can connect to my server without issues. This is why im stumped, nothing (as far as i can see) has changed since the last time we had connected.

He does have the three ports forwarded on his router, even though he is running only the client, could this have anything to do with it?

...or a connection problem between your server and his client. You could also break it down to a possible connection problem between your ISP and his ISP which is not too uncommon :(

no, client does not need a port forwarding, in fact such a config would be useless as the client is beeing contacted by the server on a random UDP port.

if
- your server isn't hosted on a PC with several IP Interfaces, binding it to one interface will / should not help in this case
- the debug mode does not help to solve the timeout issue as well as your friend does not use WLAN (which has a higher timeout potential)
- no firewall at your friends side blocks connection to your server

I could only recommend testing an older client version from the ftp server. They have been reported as a bit less timeout sensitive then the actual client. If all this doesn't help, my last guess is a very bad connection between your ISP and his

I have a similiar problem. It seems to happen after I reboot the server, and clears up after a day or so. Some folks can get in with no problem, others get the error. I can see no difference between those who can and those who can't.
