I have read several post on this subject, but there seems to be no definable answer. I have set up the server and can access it throught the quick connect option. Yes, I know I could use this method, but I'm curious now and would like to know how to correct this situation. Another thing, I have tried to list as a public server, as that was one of the sugestions in a post, this still did not solve the problem of seeing my server on the list. One thing I did try was downloading TS2 on my third comp to see if it would find the sever to no avail. Any ideas???

Thanks

Tell us your set-up. You got a router? What kind?
You on Cable - DSL ( might help )?
Did you open the right ports on your firewall/router for TeamSpeak?
Do you have your server set up as Clan or Public?

We need more info. ;)

I am running the server with DSL on windows 98 second edition platform. I have no router attached or firewall running. Again, l can log on through the quick connect option, if that makes a difference. However when finished setting this up I would like to turn my firewall back on. I assume I need to open up the port (is it 8767)

Thanks

I have had the same problem my server never shows up in the web server list. Also when I update the web server list it always seems to come up with 4853 servers found. That number never changes always stays the same.

Now I'm sure if this is the exact problem to why it doesn't show up but from reading the Status update on the main Teamspeak page it says this

Status Update Posted by: [N. Werensteijn] on 09-01-2003 @ 23:11
Hi teamspeak fans.

It has been a hard time for us teamspeak folks, but the worst of it is over now. All our servers are back online and the dns entries have been updated. The server list is offline at the moment because the 6000+ servers that were reporting back to our website were causing this site to slow down significantly. We will implement a better method in the near future.

On a different note, everyone is asking when rc2 will be done. We have taken a break during the hollydays, but now we are back working on the rc2 version. The aim is to have this version ready well before the notorious 3.3.2003 date.

And for all those mac fans who might or might not have heard: Teamspeak will be ported to max osX.
Apple was kind enough to lend us some hardware which we can develop the port on. But don't count your blessings to fast. Porting ts2 to the mac means that we have to learn a new enviroment and rewrite the whole program in C++ . Needless to say, this is a BIG project..."

The exact statement in this update is "The server list is offline at the moment because the 6000+ servers that were reporting back to our website were causing this site to slow down significantly. We will implement a better method in the near future.

Now my thinking is that the server list is offline so that is why we can't see our servers listed in the web server list.

I have the same problem, as does a friend of mine. We both run Clan servers, hosted by a pro server outfit in Boston (maybe that's the problem? LOL) I went to my Server Admin, and changed it to "Public" from "Clan", checked the Weblist....and no difference. Still 4853. In fact, ALL the servers there are listed as clan servers. Hmmm. Funny thing is.....I've seen both of these servers listed in the Weblist before, but not now.

I'm sure you will see that on this page when the service is back again.

Ah, call me slow, but, I was wondering why peeps seem to feel they needed the list so much.

It sure does eleviate the problem of dynamic IP's

I never really used the list....I always obtain IPs as needed or use servers with static IP's or "DNS" forwarding.

Thanks all for the replies... Guess will just have to keep typing the IP in each time .. :(

Why type the IP in when you can create a short-cut? Like this:

teamspeak://IP-HERE/?nickname=NAME-HERE?loginname=LI-HERE?password=PW-HERE

If the IP changes from time to time, just update your short-cut! You can even have it go to a subchannel. I forgot that part of the shortcut, but it listed somewhere in the forums.

1£) you can manually add entries to your serverlist

2) if you have an own server and no static IP, why not using a dynamic DNS service like www.dyndns.org ?
