View Full Version : Strange "lag" in cs1.6 with Ts2
Hi all,
I have been using Ts 2 2.0.32.60 for only a couple of days. It works fine, i can hear my friends fine, and they can hear me. However, when i play counter-strike 1.6, and teamspeak is on, I get these random "lag" attacks, in wich i cant move, shoot, or do anything. I say "lag" becasue i dont think it has anything to do with my latency. I can see what happens around me and I can move the mouse.
After the "attack" i start moving and shooting in the order i have pressed buttons during the lag.
This is really frustrating! Im using a Logitech Premium USB Headset 350, so it should have nothing to do with my soundcard.
I have tryd directsound, wave, usb2.0 usb 1.1 and im really confused! None of them work
When ts is off, i can play just fine!
If anyone had the time and patience to read all this complaining, and has an answer, plz let me know!
Thanks in advance,
Sp00n
Edit: To be more specific, here's my system:
Amd 2100+
gf6600
512 ram
xp home
Creative soundblaster PCI
It's the CS Server. Is it 100 tick, 66 tick, or 33 tick?
100 Tick ran by Linux and TeamSpeak at same time is lag attacks. Depending on what map and the map size you are playing.
I have had these "attacks" on Source as well.
I do not know what tick means, and how to find out wich rate it is. But doesnt this means that my friends in the same server should have these "attacks" too?
Also, how did you solve the problem?
what kind of connection (UP and DOWN bandwidth) do you have, do sometimes multiple user speak at the same time ? Did you ever tested a lower codec in TS (which one are you using by the way) ?
These a (theoretical) my connection specs:
Downstream = 20480 Kbit/s
Upstream = 1024 Kbit/s
At the moment im using the Speex 25.9 bit codec, but i have also tried it with Speex 12.3. (i do want to be able to understand what they say =])
Edit: I found the following lines in my TSClient file:

Maybe this is the reason.
Please help.
- do you use the voice function of CS in parallel ?
- did you tested wave or direct sound in TS / tested as well the available sound devices ?
