View Full Version : [TS 2.0] EVE-Online
Set the client to use WAVE instead of DirectSound. Other then that it works wonderfully.
I dont have a problem using Direct sound.
using
TS2_RC2
Athlon 2000
SB live 5.1 Platinum
Windows 2000 sp3

I've got a problem using TS2 while playing EVE-Online.
I am seeing flashes in the graphics of EVE while using TS2 when there were
none without. I'm currently unaware if this problem is at all related to my
main problem.
When running TS2 in the bacground and playing EVE, I have an annoying
anomaly where my camera zooms out to infinity while flying around in space.
In effect, causing me to fly completely by insturmentation (ie: overview and HUD controls)
Sometimes I can get my camera to reset, and other times I have to dock in
station to force a camera reset (more often the latter).
I have tried disabling the Numlock key and disabling direct input as well, but
neither solution seems to have any effect on my problem. I have been
reading around on the forums for any sign of this problem and so far haven't
come across any posts of this nature. I have, however, seen articles where
mousewheel scrolling is effected and other articles where USB devices are
conflicting with TS. I currently use a Logitec MX-700 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/features/opticaltopics/US/EN,CRID=826,parentCRID=815,CONTENTID=6174)
connected via USB and am using my mousewheel for zoomming in/out with
the camera. Could this possibly be a combination of USB interface and
scrolling?
Any help with this situation will be greatly appreciated. Please send me in
any direction you feel could be of assistance in solving my problem.
My System Specs:
ABIT NF7 w/ NVidia NForce Chipset and Codecs (on-board 5.1 sound)
(driver ver. 6.14.457.0)
AMD Athlon 2500+
256 MB DDR
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro (AGP)(driver ver. 6.14.10.6517)
Logitec MX 700 Cordless USB mouse
Well, you may have a bad problem: Firstly, You only have 256 MB or RAM (not very much). Secondly NVidia and ATI dont mix well, you should have gotten an NVidia card.

sgtbenc,
I've never had any problems with my mobo/gfx setup before. and all my games seem
to run as expected until the addition of temspeak with eve, so your comments, tho
insightful, don't seem to apply here. I agree, my amt of ram is about half the size
that I would like it to be, but I also do not see where that applies here.. Be aware,
that while I would love to sink 5-10K $$$ into building a new machine, there is no
money to support that resolution at this time.
Ram is only about $80 for 512 MB. And all I was telling you was that: Its not a good idea to mix ATI and NVidia. Sorry that it does not really apply to your problem.
I have the exact same problem using:
TS2_RC2
Athlon 64 3500
Onboard sound
Windows XP SP2.
Obviously not a hardware issue.
Well it could be you motherboard.
Hmmmm, I am having that EXACT problem with Eve and TS2 as well. Almost exactly as you described it. Been having that problem since........ September or so 2004. Started shortly after a driver up date I think. But I'd tried wiping the drive and reinstalling the older drivers to no avail. I've tried almost every driver that has come out for the motherboard, sound and video since, and it hasn't changed the problem. And with lack of broadband access at the moment, I'm weary of wasting half an hour+ to DL the most recent drivers over 56k and have them not work.

I'd really like a fix for this as well, not having TS makes fleet ops in eve a real pain.

Exact same problem. Most people have no problem running the game and the client simultaneously, but on rare occasion people do. . . an actual solution might not hurt anyone...

In eve i have my sound disable and am at a loss at how to solve this any ideas?
I've found a solution on EVE forums. Turn the sound driver in the options window from directsound to WAVE.
Hope it helps you.
