I have searched through the forums and haven't found an issue like this one so here goes...

I have seen this only in windows xp sp2, not in windows 2000

Recently i reloaded my PC as I do very frequently for testing and loaded up World of Warcraft and TS 2.0 since that is what my guild uses.

The computer is an athlonxp 2400+ with 1GB ram and onboard sound (nforce2). I use an AGP ATI X850XT.

While running WoW without TS, i see absolutely no problems at all. However, once I load TS and start up WoW my screen frequently fractures. Fractures being wierd colors and shapes starting at the center of the screen and moving to the outside of the screen.

As I stated earlier I have xp pro sp2 with ts2.0 and have not been able to reproduce at all with the same video/chipset/sound drivers.

I use the newest Omega ATI drivers and v5.10 of the Nforce 2 chipset drivers from NVidia's website.

Any ideas as to what could be going on with it?

Someone may have a better answer, but if you're only running TeamSpeak Client 2.0, you may want to download the more recent version 2.0.32.60.

I think I am using the newest one, but will re-download it tonight after work and give it a test in one of our 40-man raids.

Thanks for the reply wolfstar76

bump

I tried TS for the first time and experienced the same behavior. Similar setup to blakeman - latest ver of TS loaded, Athlon64, 1GB mem, Realtek 97 on-board sound / nForce3 chipset, ATI 9800XT. I would take it even further in my account and note that on top of video issues, I was experiencing disconnects. WoW works great otherwise. I think I have an external SB around here somewhere - may test that separately.

Realtek 97 on-board sound= many frustrating hairpulling issues.

One of the worst onboard sound chips I have had the unwanted pleasure of messing with in my time as a computer tech.

Audigy all the way. Great card that goes the distance.

I haven't had much trouble with it lately, Seems to be a combo of drivers, codecs and also which setting i have TS on for the output...

I still, however, get the fracturing every now and then.. quite annoying still.

I am having a Crack up of a time about this ATI Video on a nVidia Nforce Chipset. It isn't unheard of that the ATI Base Cards don't perform correctly on the nForce Chipsets. This makes sence because well the obvious. anyway Many people I know with the nForce Chipset who use atleast a GeForce 3 AGP have no Skip issues on WoW while on or off TeamSpeak. Get a real Video card and you will fix your problem:rolleyes:

Well there's a heck of a solution. New video card, hmmm..

Well, Busted, from my own personal experience, I get much better framerates and much smoother performance with an X850XT compared to my old 6800GT. By the way, the X850XT used to be an X850Pro before a bios flash and unlocking the 4 disabled Pixel pipes (16 currently).

Also, I want you to know that I am a hardcore NVidia person, but after seeing the benchmarks and performance I could get from my current ATI card, I switched until I can build my SLI system with the 7900 series.

For now, why don't you suggest a better way to get around the problem?

Thanks for the suggestion though.:)

I've sometimes flashes too with an ATI X1900XT and the 6.2'er drivers under win2k with a 23" TFT screen and when Wow runs. It actualy started with the 1.11 wow patch, so I'm still unsure what component this creats. I assume a driver problem but haven't invested too much time (reinstall old driver,...) so far (As it is not very critical).

Guldi,

What kind of chipset/motherboard do you have? Maybe we can narrow it down to a specific type of board causing all the trouble. Be it ATI video and Nvidia chipset or whether people with the ati/ati or nvidia/nvidia combo have it also.

I have read all the posts on this issue, and I too, am having the same problem. I have a ATI graphics card and the nVidia nForce on board sound card, and when i play WoW, I get the flashes, or whatever you would like to call them. One guild I am in uses Ventrilo, and I have never had any problems when running it, but my main guild uses Team Speak, and I get those annoying graphical issues. Anyway, glad to see I am not alone. Hopefully someone can come up with a solution. I may try buying a new sound card. Not sure though, hate to spend the money if there is a more cost efficient way to resolve the issue.

For everyone who has replied to this post, Thank you.

Now, I use the Omega drivers which are created by a guy in an alliance guild we run with.

Is everyone else using the Std. ATI drivers or Omega drivers or what? Also, in TS, what codec does your guild use primarily (ours uses speex 25.9 i think) and if you have onboard sounds, normally you have a wave output and a soundcard output option. Which do you guys use?
