are you aware that we do have a FAQ and that one thread deals with instaling a server on a "webspace" ? I get the feeling you did not read that one....

yes, 1 + 1 is indead 2, so what you post makes sense :)
GREAT ! What are you waiting for, read the tutorials for Linux and set your server up.

that however doesn't make too much sense. Unless you want to use TS together with mySQL you do not need to prepare a db before. NO tutorial (I'm aware of) requests you to prepare a db for the default SQLite db interafce.
Should you plan to use TS with MySQL you need quite a bit of knowledge as the server requires an older lib to run (described in a few threads in the forum). The MySQL interface is not recommended for productive use unless you know what you do... I'd say in case uploading a server file, unzip / untar it / start it goes beyond what you can handle, don't mess around with the mySQL interface => use the default SQLite
To sum up:
- It is hard to understand what you're real problem is (no idea how to handle Linux => read a Linux Book befor, you NEED to have at least basic knowledge about file handle functions,.... ! Playing around with a server is NOT a start into Linux and you will NOT get non TS related Linux support here)
- did you got the idea you need mySQL ?
guess i should have been a little clearer on what i needed...no i don't need help with linux... and i will look at the FAQ i didn't see that there i am sorry. i only saw the tutorials for running it on your computer but not from a bought and paid for sever....thanks...see i showed my stupiduty by not explaining enough!
oh and the db is for something i will be running with ts that coincides blah blah blah.....not really related but it is....
