View Full Version : UDP Port Problem

I have been having trouble for quite sometime on getting a TS server up and running on my server computer. The server is running Windows 2000 Server and is directly connected to the internet. I have setup my DSL modem to forward all the ports needed for TS to run off of it. When I run the TS2.test connection, the 2 TCP ports come up good, but the UDP port fails to connect. I tried about 20 different ports for UDP with no success. I can connect to it through my LAN, so I know its a problem on the WAN side. Also, I have ran a port checker through DYNDNS.org and the reply for that port was "Port is open and excepting services". If anyone knows of how to fix this, please let me know.
Sorry but you are not making much sense. First you say that your windows 2000 server is connected directly to the internet, then you say that you are forwarding ports from your router to your Windows 2000 server.
So which is it now?
If you are indeed forwarding ports from your router, something must have gone wrong with the setup of the UDP portforwarding.
Also i would suggest that you don't forward the TCP ports, nobody outside your LAN should have access to those unless you explicitely want someone from the WAN to have admin-access to your server.
It sounds like this modem has an integrated router then.
However, please check if your modem has a so called DOS protection and disable it. TeamSpeak is recieving a lot of UDP packets and some router firewalls treat this as a denial of service attack.
