View Full Version : Cannot connect, says TS isnt there
I installed the newest TS on fedora core 2. Everyone in the world can connect to it except me. I actually get an error saying that there is no teamspeak server installed or it isnt responding. I must assume its my client since everyone else can connect without a problem.
Yes i have a firewall but i can connect to other TS servers of the same version. I have no idea where to start looking for a solution. If anyone has experienced this problem before please comment. =/

TeamSpeak version (complete string: 2.0.32.60)
Operation System (WinXP SP2)
Soundcard & Driver version (logitech USB headset / no driver info present.)
Game
DirectX Version 9.0c
Error message ([15:46:28] No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it
)
How often does the error appear? everytime
What did you try to fix the problem? take the firewall down

it seems that your server is on your local network.
the faq and manual CLEARY talks about this. Did you read it?
If you read it, you would have checked that you use the local IP address instead of the WAN address. You never posted any good information about your problem. We don't know your setup and its hard to go by.... I installed a server, everyone can connect besides me.
If you read the faq and manual word for word, and using the local ip, you need to state that or anything else.
Do a forum search and you will see what I mean about that.
the search feature for forums is great... but no one uses it. maybe there should be a bigger button.

I guess I should have mentioned that my server IS NOT on my local network. I figured that when I mentioned the firewall it would imply that it was between the client and server but that might involve a bit more thought I guess. Please ask a question if you have one instead of being sarcastic, it seems more professional and might actually get the job done.

call it what you want...
... read the forum rules before posting... You can't just assume things. You need to describe everything about your problem. It took this long to realize that you have a server and a client.. and that they are not on the same lan.
good luck with your problem. Maybe someone else will help you out.
Can you reach the server for any other services? Can you ping the server and get to it at all from your computer?
My guess would start trying to see if there is any way to connect to this server at all... first ;)
Let me know, i should respond fairly quickly to your responses... i know how annoying it is to not have YOUR OWN TS server working... sigh...
