Okay, so I made sure to do a search and read up on my problem before making this post, but was unable to find enough information to correct the concern.
I have set up my server as told per instructions. I configured my router as needed per recommendations from this site (enabling DMZ).
I am able to connect to the server anywhere on my lan (using the lan IP), but anyone on an outside internet connection (including myself) is unable to connect to the server via internet.
I've battled with this for over 9 hours now and am a little flustered. If any of you have any answers or suggestions as to what I need to do, PLEASE let me know......TS is awesome, and I really want to get my own server going.
Thanks

rent one  (sry)
so I guess you've forwarded your ports, checked that no firewall might block incomming flow, made sure your sever is on when you try to connect outside your lan, use your WAN IP.

LOL....yeah I just might have to put out the money to rent one rather than use my spare computer.....
Yes, I did the port forwarding thing - which took me a little bit to figure out.
I stopped operation of my firewall just to be sure.
And of course I made sure the server was running on the time of trying to connece.
It's weird cause I can connect via the LAN, but cannot via internet.
I'm assuming the WAN IP is the same as the outside or internet IP?? It must be, because that's the IP that won't connect, but the other will.....
I know I'm missing something somewhere, but I just don't know what.

Yea, you are probablly missing a lot of things.
You dont have to have a DMZ if you have the ports setup correctly. 8767 is the defualt port.
Your WAN is not necessary the internet IP.. maybe you are using another router such as a DSL modem. If that's the case, you need to configure the dsl router as well.
If you can not connect locally, then you need to read up more on general networking. connect to the LAN ip of the computer running the server. make sure the server is set to use a static ip and not using dhcp. If you cannot connect to your server's local ip.. then you have even bigger issues. try it locally on that computer.
Why do people post server problems in the client forum and not the server forum??
This should lead you in the right direction.
If not, even though you have a spare computer and the capabilities to have a server.... Maybe it's a good idea to let the pros take care of it for you and just rent a server as Patchank stated.

www.whatismyip.com
That will tell you your ip address that people outside your LAN should connect to.
