Hi there,

We've released a new TeamSpeak 2 server binary for Linux and Windows today.

The new version deals with the following issues:

- Voice server now bans your IP address for 10 minutes after 4 failed login attempts to prevent UDP bruteforce attacks
- Fixed a bug where clients could create channels without a name
- Fixed a security issue with the TCP query interface where clients could use commands without authorization

Please note that this version also contains all bugfixes that were previously released in Linux and Windows binaries (2.0.21.3 (http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=24962), 2.0.22.1 (http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=29165), 2.0.22.2 (http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=30874), 2.0.22.3 (http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=31304) and 2.0.23.2 (http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=32700)).

You can find the new release on our Downloads (http://www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=downloads) page.

WARNING:
This version contains a critical bug, that can cause a virtual server to become completely unresponsive. Please check this thread (http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?p=142841).

We've just found a critical bug in the new release, that can cause a virtual server to become completely unresponsive. We'd strongly recommend, that you downgrade your servers back to version 2.0.23.2 (http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=32700) or 2.0.22.3 (http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=31304), until this problem has been resolved.

Perhaps a warning in the download area would be helpfull. Or even removing the 2.0.23.5 untill an update is avaible. The problem is, that the most users didn't recognize this thread here when they just go to the download area.

Good point. I've just replaced both entries on the downloads page.

How common is this problem?

So far I have been running 2.0.23.5 on linux since it was released and I have had no problems. I only have 1 virtual server running though, so that could be why.

I'll probably keep it running until the problem occurs, just to see what happens. :D

Let's say we found out how to kill any TeamSpeak server with this new version that has no password yesterday in a few seconds.

 *dashes to FTP and SSH* Nothing to see here, keep moving. Back to 2.0.23.2 we go.
