Terrible background noise

spec = windows XP, 512 ddr ram, 1800xp

soundblaster Live, headphones, logitech mic



i have this awful non-stop background noise that sounds like a jumbo-jet taking off, but only in team speak, it is perfect in sound recorder and everywhere else, including other talkee programs. i've tried using direct sound, wave sound, fiddled about with my sound settings, turned mute on and off, switched mic off input, back on again etc etc

help? :(

Have you also tried new Soundblaster drivers? There have been lots of problems with Soundblaster cards (you can do a forumsearch on that topic) but as far as i am aware the recent sb-drivers work better now. If not there is still the possiblity to switch over to kx drivers (www.kxproject.com)
