Ok, I downloaded the TS server so that my family and friends to could talk to each other. But it doesnt work =(

Ok the error i see is "No reply from server Maybe the server is offline or maybe teamspeak is not running on it."

My issue is I HAVE done the following: Changed the WinXP firewall to allow Exceptions for UDP 8767. The computer that TS server is on does NOT go through my router. It goes straight through the DSL Modem. My other computers go through the router. But when it failed I did do the port forwarding to see if that would help. Still same error.

I have tried the Test site so many times and it gives me the same thing over and over again, tells me port forwardin and firewall. (I think this is a generic response or something. lol)

So i'm stumped and was wonderin if someone else could lend any advise. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to ports and things but I believe i've followed the directions properly. with no luck =(

Oh and I downloaded it to a second computer to just see if it was my first computer, and it still dont work. Is there a secret squirrel thing i'm missin or does it just not like me. lol

thanks in advance for your time and patience =)

All the DSL modems I've seen in the last few years *are* routers, so you are almost certainly behind a router. As such, you'll want to look at configuring port forwarding. www.portforward.com is a great resource to see exactly how to do that for most given routers. It couldn't hurt to lookup your DSL modem and see if its listed there - if it is, it's a router as well as a modem, and you'll have the directions you need to forward TeamSpeak Traffic.

Failing that, here's my typical generic checklist of thing to check/doublecheck.

Generic "my friends/users can't connect" checklist:

1) Are they connecting to your WAN address (www.whatismyip.com)
2) Are the ports forwarded from your rotuer to the TeamSpeak Server on your LAN? (www.portforward.com)
3) Have you made an exception for Inbound UDP traffic on port 8767 in your software firewall(s)? This includes the Windows Firewall which is ON by default in Windows XP SP2
4) Is the server running? (test by connecting to it yourself)

Hey thanks for the input.. No one is awake to help me try it out.

But i used the TS server test thing and finally got all but Greens, any idea if these two are something more i need to do to it.

the ones that failed were

Perform Connection Handshake
Retrieve a list of Active Channels

Is there something else i can do to make those work to? I'm not sure if they will effect others tryin to get in since I have to wait.. But thought i would ask since you've been so helpful.

TY in advance
