My friend and I have both installed Teamspeak in order to talk to each other while playing Battlefield 2.

After installing, we connected to TeamSpeak - Public 1 on the webpage: http://www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=getstarted

TeamSpeak2 then opens. We press on the Connection tab in the upper right corner and chose the option connect. Under the Local Addessbook tab, we right-click on Servers and chose Add Server.

Both of us name the server the same name - in our case it is Presidential.
After that the name Presidential automatically appears under the Label title on
the right hand side.

We then paste under the title Server Address: voice.teamspeak.org:8767 which was copied from under the TeamSpeak - Public 1 title on the website.

We then each put in our individual nicknames under the Nickname title.

The tab registered is selected.
The tab Auto-Connect is selected.

We both push on connect and then we are both connected to voice.teamspeak.org:8767 and server TeamSpeak Public-1-

We both see in the list that we have joined.
We each transfer into the French Talk room.
Both of our nicknames appear there with a (U) at the end and both our nicknames have a green circle before them ------- However, and here is the problem, we cannot hear each other at all???????

What are we doing wrong?
Do we need to create a channel?

Under Settings, Options and then Sound Devices, we have chosen Direct Sound under Sound Driver and we have both selected our AK5370 Logitech Microphones for Input device and for Output device we have chosen each our own sound card.

We have Disabled all sounds in the Sounds Notifications menu.

In the Sound Input/Output settings we have chosen the Voice Activation tab.

There is a green circle in a sqaure beside the Activate local test mode for the codec?

In my Panda Internet Security 2007 advanced settings for the firewall, all TCP and UDP are allowed for both client and server. The firewall also allows The TeamSpeak 2 Client inbound and outbound access.

In my friends firewall, named Freedom, the Team Speak 2 Client has inbound and outbound rights. There is no advanced port settings on his firewall so we called tech support (since we both have extreme high speed service with Videotron Inc.) and we were informed by the tech support rep who also uses Freedom and Videotron Extreme High Speed that he himself uses Team Speak fine. He said if inbound and outbound is permitted then it should work.

So what is the problem?
What are we not doing right?
What have we not setup right?
Is it us or the program?
Do we need to start the game and then it works???

What must we do?
Are there any other programs that might be easier to use?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you!:)

The Channel "French Talk" is a moderated channel. You need to have voice to talk with each other.

You can create your own (unmoderated) channel on this server.
In this channel you are able to talk with each other without any privilege.
