View Full Version : Keybind file stops working?

First, please forgive this duplicate post. I'll try to delete the one I have in General forums.

I recently purchased a new computer and have installed TS2. I imported the same keybind file that I had used for a year. However, I now find that all my keybind commands no longer work accept for TS volume up (*) and TS volume down (Num /). I can't even use single keypress commands from my file anymore (like Ctrl to broadcast to all channels). However, I can switch channels using Ctrl+Shift++ or with Ctrl+Shift+- which interestingly enough are not keybind commands in my file.

I doubt it is a keyboard issue. All my keys register in other programs so I can't think why they wouldn't pick up in TS.

Does anyone have any insight into this? It's driving me nuts. I read in another thread somewhere that an audio codec might be involved. I have enough knowledge in this area only to be dangerous. Do I need up update my codecs? Is this done in the Control Panel / System area under sound devices? Where would I obtain a newer or different codec (again assuming this might be the problem)?

Thanks in advance for any help. I gotta get this working!

After much trial and tribulation, I found out the answer myself. I figured I'd post it here in order to help those that may run into the same situation, since not many other seem to know about this.

The channel names for the TS server I was using had changed slightly. Instead of:

Flight 1
Flight 2
Flight 3....

THey became

Flight1
Flight2
Flight3.

No spaces.

Since the names were different, the keybind was calling for channels that no longer existed.
