Whats the blue screen of death saying the problem iis?

As it could be something hardware based (ie ram problem, HD problem)

Wish I could tell you more than Fatel error - that is all I can get before it reboots....But I only have this problem with TS and UO running together - I have plenty of HD space and 512 Ram. My guess is that it is some conflict that TS is having, and I can run UO, UO map, Icq, Uo Assist and a internet window or 2 open with no problems at all.

May I just need a new laptop :D

Hah

512mb of ram is pushing a bit for a lot of things now a days... I've had 2GB for a while, and 1 GB for a while before that

What size is your page file set at?

that a good question ;) I will have to look when i get home....ok well Ram is cheaper than new laptop... :D maybe I will try that.... I have to stop and buy a new head set since my cat thought is was a midnight snack and it is now in 3 pcs. But what should the page file be set at???

The rule of thumb is 2.5 x your physical memory (I think)

But that can go to pot - I have 2GB memory, but only have a GB pagefile

It wants ot be more than 1GB for sure

Ok... I will check that tonight AND maybe see how much to get more ram in my laptop.

Physical memory dump is usually ram or HD

It can be not enough memory (seen that before), or not enough page file...

I wouldnt jump the "not enough ram" route. You will run slow, but you shouldnt get an error like that.

I would go with bad sound drivers 1st... Ram 2nd.

Go to HP site and look for drivers for your laptop there for your soundcard. update em.

As for ram.. you may want to consider upgrading.

does ts crash if you only have ts running?

Ive seen a laptop with 256mb of ram blue screen in windows doing very little...

It turned out to be that it also had a tiny page file... So hence suggesting that

OH yeah... I do that on a regular basis... I can play for about 1 hr and poof... physical memory pump... and ONLY when I run TS I wonder if there is a memory leak with TS???

I have not tried skype or ventrillo, as my guild uses TS.. but I have run UOAssist, UO auto map, icq, outlook, and multi web pages for hours and not have a problem... that is why I am fairly sure it is TS causing the problem..

I dont think TS has a memory leak, never noticed a problem....

There must be some reason behind it though!

There are others out there having problems with processor useage being high with TS..... I am not sure either what the problem is, the last thing I think of is the sound card on the machine. but all the drivers are up to date (2004 was the last one) This is just very strange!!!

Yeah, it sounds that it could tie up

As you increased physical memory, and virtual memory (page file), it increased playable time....

Yeah, at first it would crash at start up of TS or within 5 mins... NOW however I can play for about 1 hour give or take and it works PERFECTLY.... This is very stange!!! I have 1 gig of ram and a maxed out page file!!!

Ok after weeks and weeks of having my laptop crash out after about 1 hour of TS use, I have finally solved the problem!!!

I bought a Turtle Breach Audio Advantage Micro. It is a SMALL (jump drive size) external sound card. I ordered it from the Staples website for $29, it came yesterday, I installed it and played for OVER 2 HOURS!!!!!! The sound quality is fantanstic!

I do ot think my sound card was broken, but I do think it was not compatible with TS. If anyone else is having sound card problems I would suggest this little $29 fix, hey if it does not work you can return it!!

Good Luck to all !!!

I use a USB mouse and USB cooling pad and a regular head set. You need to purchase a Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro USB sound card.

I had the same problem with my Pavilion notebook!!! Spent $29.99 at Staples and POOF it works GREAT!!! It just plugs into any USB port and then you plug your headphone or speakers into that.

Trust me it works GREAT!!!
