HELP!!! All I hear is "new player" "player left"

Is this a microphone problem? Its driving my crazy! I have Sigmatel Audio. Please, let me know what this could be so I can do a search to solve it!

Actually, I can hear myself, but I can't hear anyone else. I am trying to set this up to play Everquest II, but no one there is responding to me on chat. I tried doing a search on this forum and did what they recommended, going through the teamspeak setup and using my control panel, but I still only hear "new player" "player left" and myself. My options were different then what they showed under the control panel, but I turned on everything that was there, which is to say "line in" "rear mic" and "microphone". I boosted the microphone. HELP!!! I feel very silly talking to myself on the test chat. I want to cry.

Please HELP!
