I'm using Ubuntu 6.10 with TS2 and TeamSpeak set to allow all ports that it needs (1024-65535 TCP, 8767 UDP.) When I join a server, I can hear others talk and can hear the sounds from the program "switched channel" etc.

But, I can't send messages to them, and when my light blinks on nothing reaches them. My mic volume is at full.

How can I fix this? I've tried the HOWTO for enabling TeamSpeak under ALSA and OSS. It hasn't worked. I've tried enabling TeamSpeak via Arts. It hasn't worked, and when I don't get undefined symbol warnings it refuses to run. Period.

More information as follows:

System > Preferences > Sound: Playback Autodetect, Capture VIA8233A. (I have ALSA, ESD, OSS and ARTS installed.)

cat /proc/asound/card0: codec97#0 id oss_mixer pcm0c pcm0p pcm1p via82xx
cat /proc/asound/card1: id midi0 oss_mixer
cat /proc/asound/cards: 0 [V8233A ]: VIA8233A - VIA 8233A
VIA 8233A with ALC200,200P at 0xe400, irq 209
1 [UART ]: MPU-401 UART - MPU-401 UART
MPU-401 UART at 0x330, irq 10

Teamspeak Settings > Options: Sound Driver: Default (oss /dev/dsp)

/dev/adsp and /dev/dsp both present.

Any help would be appreciated.

ts and 6.06 runs great for me, I didnt have to change anything in teamspeak. I only changed my ubuntu volume controls. Run in 'local test mode' while making the changes.

heres my settings if they help?

volume control - alsa mixer - playback
master - 100%
PCM - 80%

volume control - alsa mixer - capture
microphone - 0% there is a red x over "mute/unmute"
capture - 80%
mic boost is OFF

FILE --> CHANGE DEVICE --> OSS

volume control - oss mixer - capture
volume 100% - there is a red x over "audio capture"
microphone 0%
