MY OS: WinXP Pro SP2
MY modem: Zyxel EQ660R ADSL router
TeamSpeak Server Version 2.0.20.1
Soundcard: Avance AC96 Audio
Game: Eve Online
Direct X Version 9.0c
Typically, when checking my IP in cmd with ipconfig my
IP address is 192.168.2.2
Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway is 192.168.2.1
DHCP is 192.168.2.1
DNS Servers is 192.168.2.1
I've read all the info on this matter in the TS forums.
I've been to www.portforward.com and followed directions for
my router.
I forwarded port in NAT - Edit SUA/NAT Server Set.
Start port # is 8767, End port # is 8767,
IP address is 192.168.2.2
The router firewall default policy is:
Firewall Enabled
Asymmetrical Route Allowed (When Asymmetrical Route is allowed,
all LAN to LAN and WAN to WAN packets will bypass the Firewall check.)
Packet Direction and Default action is:
LAN to LAN / Router = permit
LAN to WAN = permit
WAN to LAN = drop
WAN to WAN / Router = drop
I have no firewall software running except the windows XP firewall.
When I set my TCP/IP settings to Static IP using these values I lost my ability
to access web pages all together. I had to return to the original TCP/IP settings of
Obtaining IP and DNS Server automatically, reset my modem, reboot my PC, and
uncheck the LAN automatic detect settings in my web browser internet options,
which I later rechecked, to get my access to the web back.
I've talked to my service provider, Embarq.
Embarq (formerly Sprint) informed me that I have a DHCP account.
So, I cannot use a static IP since I'm not paying for one.
They told me that it would not effect my using TeamSpeak.
They also said that anything having to do with port forwarding must
be referred to the Zyxel web interface.
I've given the external IP: 71.53.172.6:8767 to my friends and they
get the infamous message. "No reply from server
Maybe the server is offline
or maybe teamspeak is not running on it"
I can access the server using my local IP 192.168.2.2
For kicks I tried using the IP 192.168.2.1 in the port forwarding but
that didn't work. I tried forwarding the port to 80 instead of 8767. (Grabbing at straws.)
That didn't work either.
I've uninstalled TeamSpeak Server and reinstalled it twice with no difference.
This is all the info I can think of to give you to help me find a way to make this work.
I can't shake the feeling that it's got to be something simple but not so obvious that is causing
the same problem for so many folks.
