I am at college and I got the IT dept to open port 8767 for me and I still am unable to connect to any TS server. Is there anything else that needs to be done for me to connect to a server? Can anyone please help me? I trying to find out want needs to be done so I might ask them if they can or cant do what is needed? I found out that my college uses Symantec 5640 firewall. Is there anything that I might need to know that can help me be bale to be able to connect to TS?

No ports need to be forwarded for TeamSpeak unless you are hosting a server. This is the "English Client" forum, therefore I assume that he/she is talking about the TeamSpeak 2 client software.

The TeamSpeak 2 client sends to the UDP Port of the server which is 8767 by default. Depending on the server you are trying to join, this port can be different. In this case, you can see the port at the end of the server address.

Example: voice.teamspeak.org:10050

This port needs to be open for outgoing connections.

The real problem is, that the client port for incoming voice streams from the server is chosen randomly. The TeamSpeak 2 server assigns a random port to each client and there is no way to predict which port will be used.

This is normally not a problem as firewalls recognize this and allow the according data packets to pass through.

But in your case, the firewall is configured to explicitly BLOCK all connections except those allowed by the network administrator. This means that the firewall will drop all data packets for a blocked port, without any exception.

This means that you can't use TeamSpeak 2 unless you find a way to get the packets through the firewall. Some people succeeded in tunneling TeamSpeak 2 connections.

Maybe you can find them here.

I have the EXACT same issue. I'll try to find about tunneling TS...
