Hi,
I'm new to teamspeak and need to buy a mic/headset.
Just wondering what anyone thoughts were on headset vs mic.
and this is embarassing to ask...but does this work thru the sound card not the modem. in other words..you connect your headset/mic to the sound card not to the modem?
Thanks for helpin da newbie :)
Hi
The headset can be fixed next to the mouth, the micro needs to be placed as near as possible to your mout which isn't allways possible (keyboard or mouse is in way)
=> the voice transfer will be better with a headset.
But the headset has to be carried allways, some do not like that.
:-) and yes, you plugin the micro or headset into the Soundcard NOT the Modem.
Just a small warning: using TS or general voice communication over a modem can be difficulte since the modem bandwith is very limited compared to DSL, cabel,... especial when playing at the same time.
Hosting a TS server behind a modem... I would forget :-)
and for not laffin at me at least via the thread :)
I'm not planning to host ...I NEW that would not be good :)
Will the game sounds and voice come thru the headset and not the computer speakers then or just voice in headset and game sounds in the speakers?

Only way to split the game sounds and teamspeak voices is to run two sound cards in your computer. Otherwise game comes through head set like teamspeak.
I'm getting all the sound coming thru my PC speakers and I hear Nothing at all thru my headset
My mic works fine. Can I make the game sound and voices come thru my headset and not the pc speakers at all??
Thanks

If your speakers are powered then yes just unplug the speakers plug on back of computer and plug in your headphones jack.
