View Full Version : trying to host server, have network card installed
Been trying to host server. Have network card installed so have a 192.etc Ip listed on "'Your Ip's". Do I have to disable network card (or perhaps remove it) to host? Windows '98 OS.
Hi

1) thats a very good idea to have a network card when using TS
Do I have to remove the Network card ?
2) does your PC has telephatic abilities to communicate with other PC's ? If no then better do not remove your network card.
Don't forget the cables between the PC's if you do not have WLAN !

3) do you want to host the server in a LAN or will your friends join from the WAN ?
LAN: simple configuration, please use the FAQ or the search function
WAN: please do a search for "port forwarding" or have a look in to the FAQ
Firewalls are a subject too ! use the search as well or the FAQ
otherwise post exact question if you can't find the answer.

Guldi, sorry for not including details in my query such as the network card was for LAN gaming & i want to host on WAN. i will do the relevant searches & look at the FAQ's as u suggested. Thanks, Dom.
PS Appreciated the sarcasm.
Easy fix in the end. All i had to do was disable network card driver & the 192.etc Ip address disappeared from the ts2 server 'Your Ip's' list leaving only the 144.etc Ip address. Thanks again Guldi. Dom.
