First off... TS is a great application... thanks to those who spend their time developing this software...

I run a flight server for a small VA and one thing I would like to see implemented in TS3 is a small request. I was wondering if you could add an option where SA members get a PM from the server showing new player or member signin details...

I.E.

*priv* : Player John has signed in. IP: 192.168.1.1

or

*priv* " New Player John has joined. IP 192.168.1.1

I am unsure how easy/hard this would be for you to do... i wouldn't expect it to be hard... I have read some of the ideas and features that TS3 is suppose to/possibly have and it sounds great! Any idea on a possible release date? Just curious...

Thanks again for your hard work and open minds... it is great to see you all wanting public ideas and possibly considering a lot of them...

Godspeed!

Just curious, are you aware of the fact that you can enable server logging to keep a permanent record of people's IPs as they connect to your server?

How can I enable the servers enhanced logging capabilities? (http://www.goteamspeak.com/index.php?page=faq&id=4&item=59#q59).

Same info that you'd get in a PM, but with a permanent record (in case you need to review it in the future for bans and the like).

I am aware of that...

but it would be kinda handy i think to have something like that pop up... or atleast i think it would be.... these "script kiddies" like to come in and use these scripts that they did a google search for or got from a torrent site and like to bother my members... so instead of going to my server computer... pulling out the log file and looking through all that crap to find the IP i think it would be a little easier to just a PM from the server.... plus they hit and run so i can't right click and get server info before they log off...

but this is just a suggestion that i like... maybe make it an optional thing or something...

I think I see where you're going, but I might one-up you here.

What about a "Recent Users" field that anyone with the proper rights could display.

You'd open this from a menu and could see a list of users and IPs that have been on your server in the last "x" days. This could let you see when "MyFriend1" was last logged on, but it could also show "UnregisteredHacker" was on around 1am, and you could add a ban on their IP from that interface.

That way, no pop-ups to interrupt your gaming, no digging around in logs (for "recent" problems at least), and you can still catch those "hit-and-run" script kiddies after the fact with a few small clicks?

While I'm at it -

What about integrating an option to let the TS client display the log file natively? That way I don't have to FTP to my webserver, download the log, read through it, then make actions based on what I see?

Devs? Thoughts? :)
