guys,
I've been hearing about teamspeak for a while but never had the opportunity to test it myself, until recently. I finally went ahead and installed it a few days ago, and it looks like a good product. however, I'm under the impression that you're missing an important issue here, namely software integration.
yeah, you have MySQL support, right.. but not everyone uses MySQL for authentication. what about LDAP for example ? lots of organizations use X-500 directories for user account management (email, WEB SSO, VPN access, etc..). wouldn't it be a nice feature to have on the server ?
on a similar note, what about PAM support ?
actually, maybe it would be a good idea to expose some of the server API (like providing some IDL description of the authentication API), so that people can develop their own authentication modules. everyone would benefit from it.
care to share any thought about this ?
regards,
-pirus.
edit: typo, I meant X-500 of course, not X-509.
I guess I've been playing around with PKIs too much ;)
