Hi,

Suddenly my teammates started complaining about a high pitch tone while I was transmitting. I verified it with the local test mode and indeed there it is.

Finally I tried unplugging my microphone ... and STILL I am stransmitting a high pitched tone. I have fiddled with all the alsamixer settings I can find, to no avail.

I have been plowing through tons of forum messages trying to fix this.
Anyone experienced the same thing and hopefully know a fix?

oohhhhh don't you just LOVE closed source ?
this is what you get now ...

anyway in this thread (http://forum.goteamspeak.com/showthread.php?t=19917&page=2&highlight=pitch) ( by XP users actually ) it says it might have something to do with onboard AC97 boards and that it might be solved by installing a sound card. Will try that later.

I can't show an open source program with all the functionailties. But that's the whole point. We're stuck with a closed source program that is using OSS instead of ALSA. If it were open source, someone would already have added more functionalities and maybe a plug-in sound system.

There is an open source program, but I haven't found the time to try it yet. http://mumble.sourceforge.net/
