simple script - show uptime / users connected

just curious if there is an easy way to get server uptime and how many users are connected ... seems to me that i could just include the webpost.php file then echo server_uptime? or even query the database to get the uptime ..

i have tried this with several scripts with no luck .. anyone have any suggestions / examples? thanks
