My Voice is Muffled.

My voice is muffled. Sounds like I have a pillow over my face when I talk. If another person talks the same time as me, we get some nasty feedback sounds. I have the same problem when I use Ventrillo.
I've updated my drivers and changed to the wave setting. No change at all.

Any other advice?

* Do you think buying a new sound card would help?

Try a different mic, might be cheaper.

I bought a more expensive mic. Did not solve the problem.

Fixed. Bought another Mic, but this time I got a USB one.

The old ones plugged into my crappy soundcard. New uses the USB slot. Now I'm crystal clear.

There are converters that are USB devices that have a port for headphone and mic if you still would like to use your old headphones.
