View Full Version : nascar 2002 tested not ok
hi all
3 people test...people had choppy sounds. server and game was running on the same router with probs. game was hosted by another player and problem persisted. host and one player were 5/5 but i was choppy to them and i had them choppy sometimes too. might by a game/router issue, as i have posted other games worked ok. solution for us was to switch to gamevoice on the same host. wierd...anybody have a solution please reply to my pm.
thx :)
xp/sblive 5.1/server p3 700 mhz/game sierra nascar2002.
Tested with NASCAR 2003 and comms are VERY iffy for half of players and moderate for the other half. Sound is choppy and at some points they can talk but not hear anyone else or vice versa.

Our team is having the same problem with N2003. We can not use version 2.0 and had to back up to the previous version.
The features in 2.0 are great and fun to use but not ( in our case ) compatable with N2003.

macedk: xp and sb live causes many errors... read the FAQ please
N2003 works fine for me and my clients.
The servers running on an OC48 on Red Hat 8.
Bitrate is set at 16.4
the machine which I use for TS is XP/SBPCI 16/AMD1600+/1gb pc2100 ram/Cable Net
also, a couple other machines of mine havent had any problems either, running Win2k, XP, or Win2k3
hi :)
satanclaus: i have seen the posts about sb cards :) but when we play other games like forgotten battles or just talk at desktop (with the same people) there is none of the issues that occur in nascar2002/2003 ? we found that FB works fine as long we use wave instead of direct sound for some reason :). In my view its hard to nail down the problem so i dont come here to hammer on ts. I just come to see what people have come up with and i try to post my fidnings so we all can benefit from this fine program :). Problem solving is hard when you have to nail the problem between : directx, game, soundcard, connection and user errors hehe (we all make them ;)). IMHO i think its a directx issue most of the times but i'm no programmer so i can't nail it to directx alone....the reason i think this is because directx controls alot of things now and if u have a bug in directx there is nothing we as users can do about it :(. i might be way off donno again i'm no programmer. just thiking here hehehe.

I love seeing all these post from around the world. Seems N2002/N2003 is popular in a lot more places than the USA.
Our team doesn't have any problem with TS 2.0 except in N2003. It's a good program as a chat, communications product. It's a shame I can't run both versions on the same machine. We could use the advanced features of the new program and the stability of the older version when racing.

Team Speak is working great on Online Racing
http://www.onlineracin.com/.
Team Speak is integrated into the Arena and works fine with N2003. Our team has had a few glitches but nothing that can't be worked out. Someone either from OLR or Team Speak has done their home work on this one. A simple click on the channel and Team Speak launches putting the driver in a channel. The team then has the option of creating their own channel, with password, and all the other team members need to do is join.
Post race interviews and in car chat, plus it's is on live TV for special events. I never thought all these things could be possible with a PC.
Stop in to OLR and take a look. If you like Nascar and can give up a few bucks a month for some real fun and fellowship it can't be beat.
BTW I did install the latest update from Creative for the Audigy Gamer card and it has made a difference in N2003.
