cannot run teamspeak

I may have placed this in wrong forum so I am now placing my ? here

I have uninstalled and re-installed teamspeak several times now as when I double click on the client.exe nothing happens at all its not even in task manager the server .exe works fine but not the client.exe it used to work fine so this problem I find strange would it be the codecs if so where to i get them from and where do they go I am on windows xp or am i missing something in xp if so what and where

any help on this would be most appreciated
