For some reason TS has stopped working correctly if I don't have it target as the active window for push to talk only. If I click the TS client window my push to talk works, but if I click off to the desktop or open a game or application, PTT no longer works. NOTE: This is only true of my mouse 3 button (thumb button). If I change it to numpad Enter it works.
Current specs:
XP SP2
Audigy X-Fi Fatality X-treame gamer
3Ghz CPU
3GB RAM
Logitech MX500 mouse
Last time it worked was a couple months ago, and the only thing I can think of was I had a different sound card - the Audigy 2.
I have my current sound card set to game mode, and have uninstalled and reinstalled TS including trying the new beta for TS. I searched the forums for these suggestions.
Any suggestions?

try setting the push to talk button to a standard keyboard button
if u say num lock works (i woulndt use that button though) this is not a problem
with TS ,it may have to do with your mouse software. Either u dont have the
mouse driver / software installed or you may have remapped the third button.
For me all mouse buttons of my logitech mx518 are functional for push to talk
without the need of reconfiguring anything in my mouse software or somewhere else.
Also i dont have the window focus problem that u describe.
btw does voice activation work properly?
I have a Logitech MX310 on Windows XP SP2, and I can only get PTT on mouse button 3 when the TS window is active.

U need to map that mouse button to a key stroke in the logitech mouse program.
Make sure that key is not mapped in your game.
logitech has not to my knowledge released a gaming profiler for normal mouse, as they do for their wheels and joysticks. :(. So if you use that mouse button for something else your windows settings, then you need to change it every time you enter your games.
So always set your controller to map the PTT keystroke (mouse or gamecontroller and so on)
:)
I think the problem is your new sound-card. I'm really sure about this, because I installed the same card today and Teamspeak went nuts. My microphone works fine with everything else, but not with teamspeak.

I have a Logitech MX518, and the thumb PTT feature seems to work. If not, try using the middle mouse button (Clicking down).
And yes, the thumb button is usually an arrow that is mostly used for going back (Back arrow) on an Internet page; however PTT should still work no matter what.
Try using a different mouse button besides M1 and M2.
