View Full Version : WoW and TS: Clipping issues

I haven't been able to use TS for a long long time and it's about time I got some help.

One day, with no warning and no changing of settings or anything, TS started causing an issue with WoW where in most areas of the game I fall through the ground (it even happens while i'm in spirit form after I die). From my experience it only happens when I'm NOT in "rested" areas (i.e. capital cities and inns) or similar areas (Caverns of Time). It also happens in instances. I have no idea why this is, and whenever it happens I have to close TS and WoW and then restart WoW without TS on to keep playing. If at any time TS and WoW run at the same time, the problem occurs.

Again, this happened one day, out of the blue, and nowhere near a WoW update period. Any one got any ideas?

Are you running any 3rd-party applications with WoW?

Frankly, I've never heard of TS affecting in-game data for any game, including WoW, and the mere suggestion of it is - at the risk of being rude - laughable.

My first guess would be you are running, or in the past have been known to run, some form of WoW cheat client (speedhack? maphack? trainer? bot?) and it's causing the behavior you're talking about. Why that would point you to TeamSpeak is beyond me, but perhaps they access similarly named libraries or the like.

You say this happened out of the blue - are you sure it didn't happen near or after a WoW patch? Especially the big BC updates?

Have you tried making sure your version of TeamSpeak is the most recent available (2.0.33.7 BETA)?

to address your questions

1) no, i dont use any 3rd-party cheats nor have i ever. all i use is titan bar, and i installed that a couple weeks ago. (the problem has persisted for roughly 6 months, and through a full reinstall of both WoW and TS)

2) it points me to TS because i observe a clear causal relationship. i run WoW, the game works fine. then i alt-tab out and turn on TS (dont even have to log in, just turn it on and i dont do anything but double click the executable) then i start falling through the ground. simple as that. it happens any time both programs run at the same time. and the only way to fix it is to close both programs and run WoW without TS.

3) out of the blue. on saturday everything worked fine. i log out, go to bed, wake up sunday and all of a sudden i cant go on my guilds sunday night raid because i fell through the ground. it actually took me a couple days to figure out it was TS because i always turned on TS first at the time.

4) i actually reinstalled TS three times since i first noticed it (the third was this morning) so i know i have the most current version.

*EDIT* well, i dont know if youre ever going to believe me about this happening. but about 2 minutes after i posted this i logged in WoW and ran TS to test it. and for some reason, after 6 months, it decided to work only after i actually went looking for help. hooray.

Actually, reinstalling doesn't give you the most recent beta version - you have to download the executable separately and then extract it to your TeamSpeak folder after a clean install to have the most recent version.

Just FYI.

In the meantime I'm glad it's working now.
